Der EHC Timmendorfer Strand 06 ist der einzig aktive Eishockey-Verein im Bundesland Schleswig Holstein und trägt seine Heimspiele im Eissport- und Tenniszentrum in Timmendorfer Strand aus. Die 1.Herren spielt in der Oberliga Nord der dritthöchsten Liga im deutschen Eishockey.
Die DEB Oberliga Nord ist die dritthöchste, deutsche Spielklasse und vereint unter dem Dach des "Deutschen Eishockey Bundes". In der aktuellen Saison 2017/18 nehmen 14 Mannschaften am Spielbetrieb der Oberliga Nord teil. Amtierender Meister ist der Niederländische Club, die Tilburg Trappers.
